THE COMMITTEE ON PASTORAL DEVELOPMENT OF THE HOUSE OF BISHOPS & THE OFFICE OF PASTORAL DEVELOPMENT: REPORT TO THE 1979 GENERAL CONVENTION The Committee on Pastoral Development is a Standing Committee of the House of Bishops. It was created in 1959 when the Presiding Bishop, Arthur Lichtenberger, appointed a committee to study the pastoral needs of the clergy and their families.
