Resolution on War in Ukraine
Resolution text
Resolved, That the Executive Council of The Episcopal Church, meeting in Raleigh, North Carolina, April 18-20, 2024, express its concern and continued solidarity to the people of Ukraine following the two-year anniversary of Russia’s illegal and aggressive war against the Ukrainian people; and be it further,
Resolved, That the Executive Council send our prayers and support to the parishioners of Christ Church, Kyiv; and be it further,
Resolved, That the Executive Council lament the delays by the United States Congress in passing legislation to assist the people of Ukraine as they continue to resist Russian aggression; and be it further,
Resolved, That the Executive Council urge all members of the Episcopal Church to continue steadfast in their prayers for the people of Ukraine and for an end to hostility from Russia; and be it further,
Resolved, That the Executive Council commend the Office of Government Relations on their advocacy and interfaith vigils in support of the people of Ukraine, and call on the Office of Government Relations to continue urging Congress and the President to support legislation that will provide Ukraine with aid; and be it further,
Resolved, That the Executive Council call on Episcopal Relief and Development to continue their outstanding work in supporting the Convocation of Episcopal Churches in Europe and Diocese in Europe of the Church of England and their partners in providing aid, care, and relief to the people affected by Russia’s war in Ukraine.
